GET INVOLVED

Mission Trips

Greetings from the staff at Baja Vision Ministries. Over the past 55 years, it has always been our delight to house the many groups that come to the missions throughout the year from many parts of the USA and Canada to help founder Sergio Gomez and his vision of helping the needy with our work here in Tijuana , Mexico. Our goal regarding our guests and volunteers is to try to bless them, too, with our hospitality and love, and to try to make their stay as comfortable as possible. We also hope to help you accomplish all of your goals while you are here with us.

The work your group does here is priceless the families who we build homes for. Something not even in their wildest dreams could hey imagine they could have. The families have a home thanks to the many hard hours of work that so many groups have poured into these walls, and more importantly, the love you have poured into the lives of the families and their children while they fellowship often while building the home. We feel you are family, and we welcome you to stay in Rancho Solo Bunk house a secure, protected site where groups can have bed- showers bathrooms and catering if they so do choose

To get more information about setting up a mission trip with us, to schedule a mission trip, or to get an updated copy of our fees and costs, please contact me by email. For other information about our home and our mission trips, or to obtain the forms needed to register yourself or your group, please use the other links on this page. And if you can’t find it here, we will be happy to answer any other questions you might have via email.

We sincerely look forward to your coming visit, and we pray that God will bless your efforts on behalf of the many families you will bless.

Internship

Looking for a life-changing experience? Look no further than an internship with Baja Vision Ministries! Below you will find the answers to our most frequently asked questions about internships. If you don’t find the answers to your questions, or if you need more information, feel free to contact us, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS FOR BEING AN INTERN?
We expect all of our interns to be Godly people with a heart and a willingness to serve. We do not require our interns to have any specific training, but if you have experience in construction, speak both Spanish and English, or can drive a 15-passenger van, you will be invaluable to us. Whatever skills you have, you can be an asset to us, but the most important thing is FLEXIBILITY. Our lifestyle is very flexible here, and you may have to do a lot of bending and adjusting to keep up with us.

WHAT KINDS OF JOBS WOULD I BE EXPECTED TO DO AS AN INTERN? (We require all drivers to be at least 21 years old and to have a valid driver’s license.) If you are under 21and you bring your own vehicle that is fine. We would be asking interns to stay at Rancho solo and help with the arriving teams helping them get situated and help clean up before teams arrive and after they leave. Also they would be helping in other and any task Baja mission needs our great theme is Mexico-Flexion

In the past, interns have helped us with guiding our hosting groups, translating, cooking, cleaning, office work, web design, English classes, construction projects, and any number of special projects that came up during their internships. Basically, we want you to be ready, willing, and able to do whatever is asked of you in supporting the work of Baja Vision Ministries.

CAN I GET COLLEGE CREDIT FOR MY INTERNSHIP?
Yes! You would have to work out the details in advance with the teachers or faculty of your school, but we have had many interns earn college credit for their work with us. However, please be sure you know exactly what requirements you will have to meet during your internship, and make us aware of these requirements in advance so that we can plan to accommodate your requests. We will gladly fill out any forms required by your school, or communicate with faculty members in order to help you meet the requirements of your internship.

WHEN CAN I COME, AND HOW LONG CAN I STAY?
Interns are welcome to come at any time.  Our doors are always open. The length of your trip is also entirely up to you. While some interns decide to stay with us for an entire summer, others stay for a month, or just for a couple weeks. Whatever your availability, we can probably accommodate your request.

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST ME TO BE AN INTERN?
At this time, we do not have any specific costs or fees for interns. We simply ask that you make a donation to the ministry to help us cover the cost of your food and living expenses during your stay with us.

You will definitely want to bring some spending money with you, too. Whether you plan to go souvenir shopping, or just buy yourself an occasional snack or drink, you’ll also need to be prepared to purchase personal items. Be sure to plan ahead.

HOW DO I SIGN UP TO BE AN INTERN?
That’s the easy part. On the Printable Forms (see below), you will find the Internship Application and the Recommendation forms. Simply print these forms, have them completed, and mail them back to us. Once we receive and review your application and recommendations, we will contact you to let you know you have been accepted. At that time, we can set up your trip dates and discuss any other questions you might have.

Please review each of the form descriptions  to determine which one(s) you will need. To download or print a form, click on the “download” link beside the form name. If you have questions, please contact us. Unless otherwise stated, all team members should return their completed forms to their Group Leaders, and all interns should mail their completed forms to:
